What Is Inside This Application AIMS for Anger Management

AIMS is designed for Veterans and military Service members but can be used by anyone coping with anger problems. The AIMS app is based on the Anger and Irritability Management Skills online self-help course (http://www.VeteranTraining.va.gov/aims/). The app provides users with education about anger, opportunities for finding support, the ability to create an anger management plan, anger tracking, and tools to help manage angry reactions. Users can also create custom tools based on their preferences, and can integrate their own contacts, photos, and music. The AIMS app may be used alone, or in combination with the online course or in-person therapy. AIMS was created by VA’s National Center for PTSD and VA’s Mental Health Services.

Therapist recommended this app to me but it doesn't even work. There's no way to save any data on your own triggers. Like it will say "add a new___" (ie trigger) with a box to type in, but it doesn't save and doesn't let you hit next. Same with going thru and trying to report stuff, boxes are there to type but it doesn't save. Totally worthless and useless app. Esp since this actually got funded to get made. Wow. Also I'm autistic so the way my anger starts is different

What triggers your anger is extremely limited in it options and gives no way to add our own trigger. And why don't you add doing nothing as one of the responses in I tried something else!! So far, it is a waste of my time and is ONLY helpful to me to keep a record of how often I get angry, but even that is limited in the # of characters it allows. And the anger log only shows YOUR trigger list choice and NOT what I said. After it is saved, it only shows YOUR Why choices, so I can't see mine! 😠

Thanks for sharing. The app does allow users to add their personalized triggers and coping strategies, including responses with lots of characters. To add new triggers, go to the menu, tap “My Triggers”, tap edit, and then start typing your trigger in the “New Trigger” text box. For more help, email us at [email protected].

This app helped me a lot! It helped with my anger, and I have OCD which causes intrusive thoughts.. I picture a stop sign in my mind and focus on it, and the intrusive thoughts go away. I'm actually surprised at how often I use that tool! Thank you, and thank you all for your service! From an Indiana Patriot Guard Rider! 🇺🇸
